This should help keep the ""story" cleaner and easier to follow for visitors and players. What I will do is start a new thread each time I post a poll for the next 2 turns.

If I could get an ACG Mod to sticky this thread I would appreciate it.

Turn 1 AAR

Turn 1 - Not expecting to meet much resistance the German infantry spreads out in the early morning hours and advance toward the western flank of Buchholz Station. Hoping to sneak past and flank any American forces there they suddenly come face to face with at least 2 enemy platoons lining up in the middle of the road for chow just to the west of Hill 522. Heavy fire erupts from both sides but neither side takes many casualties although. Cpl Pollack and his squad break under heavy fire and flee into the woods with Lt. Wetzel and another squad from 3rd Platoon.

The Americans scatter into the nearby buildings and woods taking care to deploy their Med MG's in the wooden buildings while the bazooka armed squads deploy into the woods. The American, Sgt. Brown in the wooden building at 3/Y7 becomes Heroic. The sounds of vehicles firing up their engines can be heard coming from the town.

Turn 2 AAR

Turn 2 - The Germans finally get most of their men into the cover of the woods and begin to concentrate their fire on the Americans. As 3rd platoon lays down supporessive fire, Lt Wetzel orders 3rd Squad to make a dash for the woods to the south of his position hoping to get some men on the American's flank. The squad is cut down in the open less than 50 meters from his position, dropping their Lgt MG in the open. There are no survivors.

Cpt Tienham continues to move his company's heavy weapons forward as Lt Hamblen and his Engineers pour fire into the American infantry in the woods and building at the foot of Hill 522. Two American squads are eliminated but Sgt Brown stands fast and continues to fire the Med MG from the wooden building. The American Med MG to the south of Sgt Brown manage a lucky hit on 2nd Platoons position, killing Lt Hieken outright, routing one of his squads and the HQ Section manning the Company's Hvy MG.

Turn 3-4 - The Germans begin their broad advance against the American forces anchored on Hill 522. The Engineers of 1st Platoon manage to lay enough smoke to cover the advance to their left and into the woods. This allows HQ and 1st Platoons to swing over to the East into the woods Northwest of Buchholz Station. As the German forces cross the road through the newly laid smoke, a lucky American Bazooka shot catches one of the HQ Platoon's halfsquads and eliminates them.

In the center, 2nd Platoon, now led by Sgt. Pitz continues to come under very heavy MG fire. Both surviving squads are caught in a cycle of breaking, rallying and breaking again, unable to fully regroup. To avoid serious damage, Sgt. Pitz moves the platoon to the back of the woods and out of the way of most of the enemy's heaviest firepower.

Meanwhile, 3rd Platoon, led by Lt. Wetzel scrambles across open ground under heavy enemy MG fire and takes up positions to the West of Hill 522. From these new positions they lay suppressive fire on the Americans but do not manage to cause significant casualties.

As Cpt. Tienham moves his company's heavy weapons along the laft flank, they spot enemy forces in the 2dn floor of a building in town. They are able to keep them pinned but are unable to route them from their observation post. In addition they spot an American squad coming over Hill 522 with a dismantled HMG. The enemy troops quickly disappear in the woods directly in front of Lt. Hamblen's position.

Turn 5 - As the HQ Platoon fires on the American Squad and HMG on the Northern slope of Hill 522, 2nd Squad, is broken by sniper fire. Fortunately this does not lower the effectivenesss of the Platoon's fire. They break the enemy Squad forcing them and the Leader to rout away, abandoning the .50 cal HMG. A few minutes later, Cpt. Tienham fails to rally the broken HQ Squad as an enemy Halftrack (M3A1) moves up to the edge of town and begins firing its roof mounted MG.

Sgt. Pitz manages to rally 2nd Squad, 2nd Platoon in time to concentrate their fire in the heroic American leader manning the MMG in the Wooden Building (3Y8) but fail to do any damage. MOre Americans in another building return fire but the cover of the Woods protects Pitz and his platoon from any harm. They continue to trade fire.

Lt. Hamblen's Engineers fail to repair the LMG so he organizes them to charge the Americans defending the base of Hill 522. In the attack Lt. Hamblen is Broken and Wounded but the Platoon manages to escape any significant damage. As they assault the American positons they force them to retreat and in the ensuing advance they capture the .50 cal HMG and a Bazooka. Later, Lt. Hamblen fails to rally and continues to hole up in the Woods. After halting next to the Wooden Building the engineers pour on the fire, killing the American Hero Leader and the broken Squad (3Y8).

On the far right flank, 3rd Platoon inflicts heavy casualties on the Americans. MG fire directed by Lt. Wetzel reduces an enemy Infantry Squad in the nearby woods (4AA7). Cpl Pollack and his men manage to pin the American squad in their field of fire.

Turn 6 - Cpt. Tienham is finally able to rally 2nd Squad, HQ Platoon and as he does, he directs the MMG to engage the nearby Halftrack hoping to take them out of the fight. Although hitting the Halftrack several times, no damage is caused. As the MMG continues to fire on the Halftrack, it jams.

Sgt. Pitz directs his men to fire on the Americans further back in the Wooden Building (3Y6) and manages to break them. Pitz's men take further advantage of the situation and move forward to edge of the woodline (3Z10).

Lt. Hamblen (while still seriously wounded) manages to rally and rejoins his men as they move in the newly cleared Wooden Building (3Y8) at the base of Hill 522. Upon entering the building they pick up the abandoned MMG left by the Americans. Firing on all visible enemy troops they are able to eliminate the remnents of the Amrerican Squad in the nearby Woods (3AA7). The Engineers on the Northern slope of hill 522 direct the newly acquired .50 cal HMG on the Americans in the Woods (3U7) but the HMG jams and is subsequently abandoned.

On the far right flank, Cpl. Pollack finally manages to rally to direct fire on the Bazooka armed American Rifle Squad (3AA7) forcing them to break. Lt. Wetzel directs his ment to fire on this same target in the hopes of eliminating or reducing them but no added damage is done. The Americans return fire from positions near the Southern slope of Hill 522, killing Cpl. Pollack and breaking 2nd Squad, 3rd Platoon. The survivors rout back to Lt. Wetzel's position. While attempting to Rally 2nd Squad, 3rd Platoon goes Beserk!

American Sniper Fire is very active around Hill 522 but fortunately the Germans suffer no added casualties.

Turn 7

Turn 7 - Cpt. Tienham's men are still unable to repair the MMG. As they gather up their gear the advance to the right into the Wooden Building at (3Y8).

Sgt. Pitz advances him men south into the woods and immediately come under MG fire. Both Pitz and the squads with him break. As the Amreicans reorganize in the Wooden building (3X3) they concentrate all their Fire on Sgt. Pitz and his men, killing all but one Squad.

Lt. Hamblen manages advances his men forward, capturing the Wooden Building (3Y8) to their front. The Americans manage to retreat, taking their MMG with them.

On the far right flank, Lt Wetzel and Cpl. Pollack lead their men across the road and seize the Wooden Building (CC5) and Woods (BB5) without loss. The broken American infantry manages to retreat, although under heavy fire.

Turn 8 - Cpt. Tienham's men finally manage to repair the MMG and advance up onto Hill 522. The Engineer Squad on the far left flank fires on

and breaks all the Americans in the Woods at 3W8 forcing them to retreat back to the nearby Wooden Building at 3U6.

Lt. Hamblen and his men in their fire position at 3Y6 keep the Americans at 3X2 view pinned. Unfortunately the captured American MMG malfunctions and is abandoned.

Lt Wetzel tries to advance his men forward over Hill 498 but heavy American MMG fires forces them back into their original position at 3CC5. The Berserk Squad at 3BB5 charges across the open at the Americans in 3X3 surviving all enemy fire and successfully forces the survivors to

rout back behind the MMG position at 3V3. The Berserk Germans continue to fire on the nearest Americans and force the units at 3W4 to fall back to the Stone Building at 3T4.

The American Half-Squad at 3Z1 Battle Hardens to 3-4-7.
The American Leader (9-2) at 3V2 becomes Heroic.

So far the Americans have lost 4 squads and a Leader. The Germans have lost 2 squads 1 halfsquad and 3 Leaders, Lt. Hieken (8-0) and Cpl. Pollack (8-0) and Sgt. Pitz (8-1).

Turn 9 - Cpt. Tienham's men press forward towards the Exit Hex, abandoning the still malfunctioned MMG.

The Berserk Engineer Squad charges the Americans in the Wooden Building (3V3) at and are immediately cut down.

The remaining men of Sgt. Pitz's unit manage to break the Americans in the Wooden Building (3Z1) allowing Lt. Wetzel to maneuver his men closer to take them under close range fire.

Lt. Hamblen directs his men to fire the captured Bazooka at the American M3A1 in an effort to keep the crew from manning their MG's against the rest of the advancing German troops. Somehow they manage to score a direct hit destroying the halftrack. The rest of his men fire on an break the Americans in the Woods (3X1) defending the Exit Hex (3Y1).

On the far right flank, Lt. Wetzel leads his men onto Hill 498 trying to get into position near the Americans in the Wooden Building (3Z1) who are in position to defend the Exit Hex (3Y1).

So far the Americans have lost 4 squads, a Leader and the M3A1 Halftrack. The Germans have lost 3 squads 1 halfsquad and 3 Leaders, Lt. Hieken (8-0) and Cpl. Pollack (8-0) and Sgt. Pitz (8-1).

Turn 10 - Cpt. Tienham's hold their positions and keep firing on the broken Americans in the Woods at (3X1). The Americans are subsequently killed.

Lt. Hamblen and his men flank around to the right and adjacent to the broken Americans in the Wooden Building (3Z1). After killing the American Leader their, they move into the Woods and Building and take the surviving Americans Prisoner.

Lt. Wetzel flanks the Americans in the Wooden Building (3Z1) preventing them from being able to Rout once they have become fully surrounded. He then leads his men down the road and off the map (3Y1).

At the End, the Americans have lost 5 squads, 2 Leaders and the M3A1 halftrack. The Germans have lost 3 squads, 1 halfsquad and 3 Leaders, Lt. Hieken (8-0) and Cpl. Pollack (8-0) and Sgt. Pitz (8-1).
