First landing on HMS Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier

A diddy little drone! - took off again too. Doesn't say much about the security. Will anti drone batteries now have to be installed?

I'm not surprised that security did not think about this type of problem/didn't shoot it down/etc.....even some people in the security/intel/spy business are sometimes not thinking ''tactically'' 24-7 as they should be
..are there no guards?....they should have the entire area in view
..if I was a guard, just out of boot camp, I would've blasted it out of the sky--with pleasure...that was definitely a threat....

They could have used shotguns with Grouse Hunters. That is not typical Guard duty and might rely heavily on Officers.

Maybe the British should ask the US Navy to land a plane or two on it for them...

I gather that there is a search over here for a non lethal device that will take down drones - to be used to stop them flying drugs and phones into prisons - the prison service does not want even shot guns near prisons in case they get into the wrong hands - I'm sure that there will soon be a wider demand for something like this.

Will the government adopt a "catch and release into the wild" policy with these drones, or cruelly keep them in captivity rather than let them fly free...

She already looks abandoned, could have been such a wonderful ship as originally conceived. Should have restarted your aeronautical industry developing a plane for her.

I think Number Eight and a Half Birdshot would be considered "humane". In the US, prison guards are armed and will shoot prisoners when required. It keeps the number of career prisoners down. As long as the SAS has Assault Weapons I don't see a problem with prisoners "acquiring" shotguns and fine birdshot.

Came across this a few months ago, basically a (little) big EMP blast

This is interesting, the range sounds optimistic, and you wonder about the effectiveness against military grade electronics, but it it's a concept that might be seen in the civil environment more often. Certainly against FAA regs to shoot drones down, wonder who would be sued if you were hit by a falling drone, the operator or the beam shooter? Assuming the shooter could be found.

he radio waves blasted out from the DroneGun simply overpower links to the drone’s user, shutting down the video feed and forcing it to make a controlled landing or (if pre-programmed to do so) return to its launch point. This allows the DroneGun user to either intercept the drone after its forced landing, or follow it home (assuming it can still navigate). With its focused directional beam, the system can bring down consumer drones up to 1.2 miles away.

Love the expression on the male model used in the photo shoot. So serious and gym polished tough. The cables out the back make me wonder if this 'tactical' device is plugged into a genset...

I would think the military would spec them for military grade electronics
can you see a drone 1.2 miles away?

I wish that there was a prize for the most ironic comment of the month, because this would be the contender.

Unfortunately, the Royal Navy is still waiting for the planes that were ordered from it's American Supplier 11 years ago!

Unless the plan has changed the US Marine Corps is supposed to use the carrier.

That's only because of the delays in delivery of the F-35, rather than any shortage.
