208 RD Battle Report Translation Needed

Greetings All,

I have a short, long hand, text to be translated. Itís a "Battle report of the headquarters 208 SD" on 7 August 1942 to the 64 Army.

The 208 RD contained the 435, 578, 760 rifle Regiments and the 602 Artillery Regiment. One of its rifle regiments was mostly destroyed by a German attack on 2 August. Then it lost even more men due a mistaken VVS air attack a few days later. This info is what Iím looking for.

Any help would appreciated,

Dann

There are no information about air attacks here. Only about positions of units and fact of their resurrection. Very brief of course...

Thanks for the reply,

Their position at this date is not a problem, but is there anything about their strength, morale, or which regiments suffered the most. As far as I know, two different regiments suffered significant losses and that is what I’m trying to understand.

The 208 RD went from full strength to only about 1,000 combat troops in a few days, and then it was sent behind the lines to “Pull itself Together”.

Dann
