Me too. There was some very anti war British missionaries in Baghdad a few years back who got nabbed by the insurgents whilst spoutng off how terrible our presence was. As it happens I'd have preferred us not to be there but thats not the point. The SAS were still charged with getting them out and they weren't exactly grateful for it either. Sorry but if you shouldnt be there I dont see why our very best should be risked for it. Maybe harsh but this is no game...
But if there was anopportunity to rescue them and it wasn't taken, allhell would break lose poltically, damned if you do......

More then a few anti-war journalists and other personalities have been kidnapped and then promptly rescued, and AFAIK very little have shown any gratitude for it. Kinda like that Italian who was killed by the Palestinians a few years back, an obnoxious personality and terror supporter. What do they say, you swim with the sharks and you get eaten.
