First off, loved the Tully Crow question. Kudos to VR and Kevin.

As to the answer, I've only seen the 1964 version of The Flight of the Phoenix so I'll have to say Hardy Kruger as aeronautical engineer Heinrich Dorfmann who, while directing the repair of the aircraft, admits he's only designed and built model planes.

Okay, this is probably one of the best westerns ever made, and probably very few of you have ever seen it.

Clue: Uncle Jesse Hazzard and Buddy Holly keep the legend going.

I changed my guess, Dan. I'm going with "Barbarosa" (1982).

I didn't see your first guess, but Barbarossa is the correct answer.
Gary Busey played Buddy Holly, and Willie Nelson played Uncle Jesse Hazzard in The Dukes of.

If you've never seen it, set aside the time. You won't be disappointed.

It's your turn to pick.

I've seen it alright and have it on DVD. It's an excellent movie. What makes it all the more enjoyable for me is that I've been out to where it was filmed over a dozen times (out in southwest Texas, in and around Big Bend National Park).

Clue: Nobody "kills" Admiral Chester Nimitz.

"My Name is Nobody" with Terrence Hill staging the killing of Henry Fonda. A classic spaghetti western comedy. Weirdly, I saw it just the other day for the first time in decades.

Next: Jack Beauregard gets advice from a dead man on how to take an oasis.

I'll second that, warmoviebuff. The bar-drinking scene with Terrence Hill is hilarious.

Immortal Sergeant with Henry Fonda (Jack Beauregard in My Name is Nobody).

You got it, Dan. Immortal Sergeant - a "buy war bonds" mishmash of romance and poorly rendered desert combat with some unintentionally LOL moments

Okay, this time I'm going with three titles to win.

Clue: This trilogy was made with the same director and the same leading star over three successive years.

The first film also starred Theodore Roosevelt, Little Miss Marker and her husband.

"Fort Apache" (1948), "She Wore A Yellow Ribbon" (1949) and "Rio Grande" (1950).

The director was John Ford and the leading star was John Wayne.

The first of Ford's "cavalry trilogy" was "Fort Apache" which starred Shirley Temple who was in "Little Miss Marker" (1934) and John Agar, whom she was married to from 1945 to 1949. Henry Fonda played Lt. Col Owen Thursday. Fonda also played Brig. Gen Theodore Roosevelt, Jr. in "The Longest Day" (1962)
