Your definition of stability isn't widely recognized. Unless you count 'petty dictator in place' as stable.

With as many internal conflicts in the last twenty years, sub-Sahara Africa is a mess.

Of course, the north coast states aren't in the best shape, either.

I wouldn't say that things were better under colonial rule, though.

At least now the locals are being robbed, raped, and murdered by their neighbors, rather than foreigners. That's progress of a sort. Child soldiers and things like Rwanda clearly demonstrate that Africa has a looong way to go.

Angola stable for a few years. democratic
namibia stable since 1994 democratic
botswana stable democratic
lesotho stable democratic
swaziland moonachie, protest against absolute rule
zimbabwe special case but is democratic(contrary to western media the people still support him) stable but poor and human rights abuse
mozambique democratic, receant uprisings small scale
zambia democratic and stabel
maliw democratic and stabel
tanziana stabel and democratic

actually the number of countries that are unstable are in the minority.

Stable since '94 isn't really stable.

And you're using an awfully elastic definition of 'democratic' for many of your listed countries. The validity of a lot of those elections is debatable.

As to Serbia, it did a fraction of the Rwanda death toll over a vastly longer period of time. At least until the UN interceded.

Easier for you to point out those which really are.

Twenty years isn't much. I've been with my current agency longer.

And NATO did step in. Back then Muslims were still considered valuable.

We also recognize dictatorships. That's not proof of anything.

And its Europe-NATO or the UN will always step in. You can't let violence get out of control.

not my fault that there is no back bone among the free world leaders then, regardless all the countries are recognised so that is the proof. Now if you think they dictatorships you need to prove it.

not questioning the intervention in serbia, just saying if a similar invention took place in rwanda there would have been no killings on that scale. Burriend all so went the root of rwanda but a fast intervention stoped a seconded genocide
