The Bloody Crucible of Courage: 'Fighting Methods and Combat Experience of the Civil War, by Brent Nosworthy. A good number of new tidbits of information to help flesh some things out, but no earthshaking revalations so far.

I was reading "The Witches: Salem 1692," during the holidays! Ho, ho, ho!

Regards,
Dennis

I didn't care for it-too many errors, especially regarding period artillery.

His other two books also suffer from too many errors.

Good to know. I did like the analysis of the development of some weapons and tactics from European models. Many of the stories and anecdotes from soldiers were new to me as well.

Read Cherow's Grant, excellent, but a few minor oversimplifications. For example, Grant and Rosey at Corinth.
