DOSSHELL

Hi All...

Being a lover of the old games, but the owner of a new PC, I have been wrestling around with DosBox. The result, well let's just say I'm not the guru I was once. I've found the answer. It's called DOSSHELL. You can find it here:

http://download.cnet.com/DOSShell/30...-75072926.html

So once again I'm playing SWOTL in my Me-262, and all the old SSI games are on my screen once more.

This was my Christmas gift to me and I want to share it with you.

I did a search and no topic was found... just sayin'.

I'm actually looking for a way to run some older games on my Android tablet.
I'm hoping DosBox will work for that.

The very last WindowsXP1 install I was able to get activated is the last OS I have that can run Microprose Master of Orion (1993). I can get it to work in DOSbox, but it has a lag that drives drives me crazy. I keep an old Athlon 900mz or so computer around just so that I can play that one game. If anything every happens, I will be devastated.

The only game I used DosBox for was High Seas Trader. (Impressions Software, 1996). I played a that for several days. Pleased to be able to play old games from the good old days.

If I were you I would buy Master of Orion 1+2 from GOG.com for $2.99 U.S. They do a pretty good job of setting up old DOS games to run under DOSBox. I've had very good luck with the DOS games I have purchased from them.

DOSSHELL acts as an interface between DosBox and you. I love it on my Windows 7 machine. I just love all my old faves just running fine! Happy as a clam... Now I need more hours in the day to play!
