Or if you insist in calling this a necessity, then naturally the Germans also were under a necessity, the opposite one. That of winning in a short time, before that enemy strategy works. People look at the Blitzkrieg and see genius, and certainly it was something new - but came up with because long-term strategies would have worked against the Continent-bound power just like in WWI.

Now, if the strategy is to win on the first round because that's when you have more strength, while your opponent has more staying power than you and will win an y protracted match - then you must achieve a KO during that first round.
People, instead, saw the British stagger to their corner at the end of it. Sure they were bleeding and had taken a lot of punishment. But it was only the first round, they were still in the fight, and their strategy was to fight a long match. The fact alone that they weren't down to a KO before the end of the first round meant everything.

So Why France? Why is it France that gets the totally stupid, moronic and ignorant title of Surrender Monkeys or other unflatering names?

Other than surrender what other choices did France have?

If not for the Channel France wouldn't have been the last to fall
At last!!!!
Someone asked the very good question, and he's not French!!Thank you,Senor!
Let me tell you that since i began to study WW2 history on various support, the hardest to go through were the moronic comments on Youtube. It made me react with an extremely rude language, with French words that are easyly understable for the cone-heads oftenly met on Youtube.
I'm new to this forum(in fact i registered 10 seconds ago and saw your thread just after...),sorry if i forgot to introduce myself first...
