Look like the Dutch flyboys are giving the Taliban hell with their Apache Helicopter gunships.

There seems to be no mention of the civilians killed in these attacks. Unless they are trying to claim all the killed are 'militants', which is highly unlikely obviously. Hopefully we have improved our aim:

I'm glad to see the strikes are continueing-I had thought they had stopped.
I love the drones-no risk, no fuss, very high accuracy.
Hit hard, hit 'em often.
The idea of terrorist C3 getting snuffed out without warning while they go about their business is a lovely mix of irony and justice.

There is also a lot colateral damge from these which causes a load of "blowback" down the line. I think they're a tool but shouldnt be some panacea that some might believe...

There's a risk of colateral damage from any military action. That's the price of doing business, as they say.
With the drones, though, we avoid any friendly losses.
Plus drones seem to be politically more acceptable than manned combat aircraft when penetrateing nuetral air space. Cheaper, too.
If you set you goal as killing terrorists wherever they can be found (which I heartily support), than doing it with drones is the best method.
Here's the simple poltical reality: if Obama orders the drone strikes halted, or even significantly reduced, then the next terrorist strike against US assets would immediately be blamed on his policy shift, and the Democrats would suffer. There a good reason why Democrats tend to be quicker to order strikes: they are always laboring to avoid the 'soft on terror' label. The 'wimp factor'.
