Embassy Guard Weapons?

What weapons do the soldiers/marines guarding embassies use (i.e. standard service rifle, or second-hand equipment or submachine guns)? Again, I'm especially interested in those used by the U.S., Russia, France, the PRC, and Britain. Also, what branch of the armed forces is responsible for providing guards (I know we use marines)?

The marine corps guards the US embassies and I beleive they use mp5's, either mossberg or bennelli shotguns, m9 pistol and im sure they have m4's or m16's in the armory also with probably a few sniper rifles.

Anyone know how the Marine guards are recruited? Is it a volunteer or picked occupation? Do Marines regard it as an upgraded lifestyle over their counterparts in FOBs in middle of no-where Afghanistan? How long are the tours? Are they picked based on MOS? Are all of them from combat MOS' or are they chosen from admin, logistics, or technical MOS'? In hostile areas do they recruit those that already have MOUT, air assault, commo, negotiation, interrogation, etc. skills?

It is known in the corps as msg (Marine Security Guard), marines are usually sent there because they end up on a hit list but you can also volunteer to go into it. It is a hard thing to get into with many requierments. I know that if you are sargent or below you have to be single with no dependents and have to have a certain amount of time on your contract and run a 1st class pft and cft. It is viewd as a B-billet and is in the same category as being a recruiter or drill instuctor. I guess the lifestyle would all depend on what country you end up in but im sure the worst station is still better than most places in afghanistan. The tours are 3 years long. Marines are picked based on time in service and time left on contract and any MOS can be picked. The school for it is somewhere in virginia and MSG promotes very fast which is why alot of people want to do it.

However, the overwhelming majority are Infantry or other Combat Arms MOSs

You know, when it comes to weapons for these Guards, facing the possibility of getting rushed by hundreds of rabid who-evers... I thought of something that is officially obsolete;

Anyone for a flamethrower?

No.
Firing a mini-gun from the hp is impossible, unless your in the movies. EGs don't have heavy vehicles with pintle mounts, normally.

Do they make man-portable L-RADs?
