I think the stories about British divers putting limpet mines on the BBs at Pearl Harbor wins for me. Seems that the Japanese didn't have a good enough sense of balance to fly, owning to be carried around on their mothers' backs when they were babies. So the British had to do an assist to make sure there was "enough" damage to the US to get us into the war.

I've often wondered if the 7th Cav. would have agreed that papoose-style child rearing meant that the kid wouldn't have a sense of balance good enough to fly, or ride a horse for that matter.

MrMoonlight is a balanced individual [0]
Three entries

1.) Andy Rooney's tirade about General Patton; to the effect that we won the war despite generals like Patton. No RIP for you, Andy.

2.)My grad student discussion group leader in college who praised the Finns for fighting off the German Army in WWII. She was trying to make an argument against the Mujahedin's war against the Red Army (it was 1986).

3.) The tour leader on the USS Destroyer Edson (next to CV Intrepid in NYC) who told us that Guadalcanal was an island in the Philippines. She also took about two minutes to discuss the deck guns, and twenty to explain the meal schedule on the ship.
