Don't worry, Barney will show you how to survive. Unless of course he IS the cause of the end of the world.
But with all due respect Paul, this thread is moving to the Barracks now.
(Please return your seats to the upright position and make sure that your seat belt is securely fastened. You are going to die anyway but we don't want to be sued for it.)
The barracks? Why? Isn't there a more dignified burial ground for my heinous failure? Alternate timelines?

Oh, according to you there is nothing to worry about? Then, why are there so many scientist and the Government spending millions in studying the record elevation changes and loss of a glacier in recent years in Yellowstone? Researchers report the super-volcano underneath the state of Wyominghas been rising at a record rate since 2004. Its floor has gone up three inches per year for the last three years indicating the fastest rate since records began in 1923 http://www.earthmountainview.com/yel...ellowstone.htm
And, CNN. http://www.cnn.com/2012/08/30/us/wus...one/index.html
The future? Maybe never or it could happen tomorrow. Given the known 600,000 year cycle of past eruptions, we are now due for the next one at any time.

Well today's asteroid missed us so it looks like humanity will be just as tomorrow as it was yesterday.
Tomorrow is another day. What's more, there have been numerous asteroid strikes hitting the earth over the past million years. One of them may have dug out the Gulf of Mexico. Another hit the state of Arizona leaving a crater over a mile across to this day. Yet another air burst asteroid probably hit Russian Siberia in 1908, knocking down trees for thousands of square miles. If mankind doesn't nuke themselves out of existance, my guess is an asteroid will do the next best thing.

One of the more probable explanations I've come across for "Noah's Flood" is a large asteroid impact in the ocean, setting off tsunamis and some sudden weather (climate) changes ...

Global warming allows the Greenland icesheet to melt at a faster rate than normal (?). As a result of all that cold fresh water entering the North Atlantic it stops the Gulf Stream, this has the effect of creating large powerful extreme cold hyper cells, within months the average summer temps in the North Atlantic and North Sea drops, resulting in North America, Northern Europe and Britian is thrown into turmoil as summer blizzards rock these areas, as the very large hyper cells grow and merge they suck up huge volumes of warm moist air.
The resulting influx of water makes these hyper cells more destructive as the produce winds that are off the scale, in some places the temp drops by 60 degrees overnight, killing millions, the amount of snow is not measured in inches byt in the 10's of metres, then the Arctic ice sheet beging to expand, and this is in the middle of the Northern Summer, USA issues and evacutaion order from Alaska, many Canadians are forced into retreat south, millions are crossing the USA border, the USA can't stop the onrush.
Within two years the North Atlantic has begun to freeze over, while in the Southern Hemisphere it becomes hotter and drier, the humidity drops, monsoons fail to arrive, agriculture in the Southern hemispher begins to show signs of extreme distress, crops fail. While in the north, Russia is facing severe cold all year round, this is reflected in China as well, while in Europe, there is the forced mass migration of 10's of millions, fuel is critical as all the North Atlantic and North Sea oil rigs are now trapped in permanent ice, and due to the extreme cold, oil stops flowing and equipment breaksdown..

Better here than PC
I stand by my old theory; in order to be a real killer, it has to be a surprise, something that nobody saw coming.
But, if you want something definite, how about this?
Self-aware computers are given the directive that preservation of the Earth's environment is priority #1.
Farewell, Humans.

The rate of increase in the rise of the caldera slowed in 2009 and since 2010 has increased at a fraction of the previous rate. The USGS, UofU and NPS don't believe it will erupt in the foreseeable future.
