Put 14 rounds through it yesterday. It's pretty accurate (a tad low, but until I deal with it, it's good enough). Hardly any recoil at all, which was a little surprising. The monstrous trigger pull was...well it is what it is.

Now unloading, though, was not fun. Some empty brass just fell out with a bit of gravity, some could just be tapped out, but about half took the unloading rod and still had a bit of a problem coming out. I think I'll blame it on the design and/or on the ammuntion I used.

Still better than reloading a black powder revolver

This gun is machined out of solid steel! None of the polymer stuff used today! Very manly and very Soviet!

Big gun, not something for packing under the jacket in concealed carry states! Thank you Mr.Tito!

Overall, this does not sound like a gun I would want to have.
Yes, I know it's a bargain right now, but even so, the ammo has to be rare, expensive and time-consuming to track down. Is the brass even re-loadable?
That, and you might as well have a Black-powder revolver with troubles like that.

Well, I am not recommending it as anyone's personal defense weapon. But:

I do not know if the ammo is reloadable, but I would assume yes. I have never reloaded ammo myself so I'll have to ask around.

AIM Surplus, where I get all of my ammo, has ammo for this weapon cheap. So it's not rare nor expensive...and there is no time consumed to track it down.

I'm not having troubles with this gun. It has some perks that need some getting used to. If I had to compare it to other revolvers I have fired in the past, I would place it among the best. Sure, you can't speed load it, but it holds 7 rounds, if fairly accurate, and is incredibly reliable. The heavy trigger pull is overcome with practice and building up the strength of your squeeze. The round it fires doesn't shoot through titanium walls, but it's good enough.

It's typically Russian. I like it that way.

Comparing it to a black powder revolver was just a bit of humor on my part.

Privi makes reloadable ammo. You can also use .32-20 brass to make rounds. What would be nice is one of the revolvers converted to .22lr for training.

I picked up a nice 1895 nagant for my wife - she wants something bigger than her .22 at the range. She misses the .38 Webley I used to have, so I figured a Nagant was archaic enough for her tastes. I gave $250 which included 300 rounds of surplus ammo. Just test fired it a few hours ago and was going over with her how the ejector rod works. Nice low recoil cartridge, I can reform 32-20 brass for reloading if need be.

Hey that's great to hear. But, if I may ask, why did you get rid of the Webley? I'd love to have one of those.

Something else sounded good at the time I guess. As I recall the Webley made a 12" group at about 15 feet. Needed a larger bullet or a better barrel. Now I'd reload for it but I wasn't set up to do it at that time.
