It speaks not too well of our political system that we so dislike a President that we are willing to take ANYONE in his place. (As it turned out, we took a NO ONE in Bush's place!)

Since our political system is bankrupt, it will come as no surprise when this "system" bankrupts the Country.

Yet financial iresponsibility at the highest levels is not a crime. How did we let that happen, Americans?

No they don't. Racial issues did not surface during the Depression. 2a) They didn't need to, they were already there. Where have you been to miss all the Civil Rights Acts post-depression?

3) Bush wasn't bright? Then how the hell did he manage to get a degree or two from Ivy League colleges? And where is he today? I'd hardly call Obama a socialist, other than he's trying to keep folks in work, when Bush would probably argue that if you want work join the Forces, head overseas and we'll all pay for it later.

Born with a silver spoon in his mouth to an oil rich daddy? Admits he beered and partied his way through college? Money buys grades in privately endowed colleges with wealthy alumni. Hello? Any of this sound familiar? 3a) My point exactly. See 2a and where were Obama's folks when he needed help like this?

4) I don't see- or didn't- any rush to become first non-White President. Just to move the previous incumbent on, and he ran a good campaign to do so versus the Bush/Cheney idiots, whose only saving grace seemed to be they could at least shoot their friends accurately in the foot.

Where did Obama come from and who put up the unprecedented amount of money to get him elected? "No rush"? You didn't pay much attention to the elections, did you? Black school kids forming paramilitary marching/rap groups to sing his praises, the entire black community organized to pimp it for him...there was a "rush...you just missed it.

Setting standards- well some high bar for a non-white President- why this is focused as a Black issue is beyond me, other than my original comment as to incipient racism. If he makes it, and he seems pretty clever, I think we'll all win. And reminding Americans of racial divisions is perhaps not such a terrible thing, given they obviously exist or we'd not be discussing them.

Again, you slept right through it, didn't you. He promised to bring America together and heal racial divides. Bad idea for an enthinic president to bring up race...ever. I'll let you spend some time figuuring out why. 4a) The money seems to have come from largely ordinary folks rather like the man himself, as opposed to oil and war interests.

And I did pay attention actually, and voted too, so hardly sleeping and x2 out. I didn't miss the rush to see the end of the American Civil War either, and as to healing racial divides, how is he supposed to when some folks constantly bear bait and remind him of them? Why do we need an Ethnic President? Why not just a President, maybe cleverer than the last one?

At the end of the day, or term or two, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to fire a cretin or vote a religious idiot out of office and replace him with someone- anyone.
Doesn't take a rocket scientist to learn to use the "QUOTE" function, either.

Grammar: redneck for your mother or father's mother. As in "this is my ma and this is my grammar."

Don't you got no smarts?

One of the biggest reasons socioeconomic background predicts academic success is because the best teachers go where the money is.

They say I got to learn
But nobody's here to teach me
If they can't understand it
How can they reach me?
I guess they can't
I guess they won't
I guess they front

There's a good reason why education is failing. George Carlin sums it up best.
