My Dad's unit, the 17th Field Artillery Battalion (8" howitzers) supported the 1st Cavalry Division many times during the Korean War.

I know most of you are geared towards latter eras. Does any one have a good TOE of the 1st Cavalry during World War II?

I know the basic outline: Two brigades with two regiments, each regiment with two squadrons (roughly equal to an infantry battalion) for a total of 8 squadrons.

I'd like to see a break down for units below squadron level and what support units were at regimental and brigade level.

I was with B Battery, 1st Bn 30th Arty (155) 1st Air Cav as a gunbunny. Made lot's of trips with our pig around various LZ's, mostly around the Parrot's Beak and Fish Hook areas north of Tay Ninh. The Battery was split into 2 sections of 3 guns each and we were used a lot. I made the move from A Shau down south upon my arrival. I have made contact with several buddies thanks to the internet. Great to be alive ! Praise the Lord.
