Weider Purchases History Magazines From Primedia
LEESBURG, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 28, 2006--Weider History Group announced today the purchase of Primedia's military history and American social history magazines and related web sites, including American History, Military History, World War II, Wild West, Civil War Times, America's Civil War, MHQ, British Heritage, Vietnam and Aviation History, plus Historynet.com.
Eric Weider, CEO and President, Weider History Group, made the announcement, stating that, "Our company is committed to enhance and grow these fine titles, which are already leaders in the history magazine category. Research proves there is a renewed interest in our history and heritage. The content and mission of these magazines could not be more relevant and timely.
"The study of history has been a long-time passion of mine and my family, and we will use our stewardship to build upon the magazines' strong and loyal readership."

Hopefully with the new "adult leadership", these WBTS magazines will provide a fair and balanced story of the war, instead of one-sided yankee propaganda that made me quit reading them years ago, in abject disgust. |

By all means, if you have suggestions for these magazines, you will have a direct feed to the Supreme Commander. This is as good of a place as any to start the feedback.

I think it is safe to say we now know what Erics surprise was that he referred to a week or two back. This is excellent news and I am glad to be a small part of it.
Kudos to Eric for keeping it under wraps and aquiring some great magazines. ACG just got a little bit better and bigger. WOW

I've given away tons of Civil War Times and Military History magazines that were my dads. I'd eventually get around to reading them but the wife was harping on the bags and bags of magazines.....with the boxes and boxes upon boxes of books I have I decided the magazines had to go.
Nice news for Eric. The tie in with Weider Health and Fitness is new to me. Learn something new every day.
FYI Major H's idea of buying Avalon Hill from Mattel sounded purdy good. |
