Well Murphy gets some credit for resigning. It isn't like he really had to. He could probably have hung on. As Trump & Scott DesJarlais have shown lying, serial adultery, breach of professional standards, pressuring women to get abortions & actually procuring abortions are no barrier to election & even re-election in the 'family values', 'pro life' party.

Just to digress slightly, what are AG members views on abortion?
My mother became preggers with me outside wedlock 60 years ago, it was a heinous social crime in those days so her and my dad hurriedly had a shotgun wedding to stop the neighbours talking.
Dunno if they ever thought of having me aborted, but if they had, most people would probably have thought "Oh well, abortion was for the best" and wouldn't have minded if I'd been aborted.
But I might have minded..

Abortion is a very complicated topic anywhere. Even the most liberal and conservative of people tend to acknowledge that the "other side" has some strong points. It's also one of those messy situations where one (if they are willing) can easily put themselves into the shoes of people on either side of the equation and see where they are coming from and that they have some good points to be made.

If people want to get into a general abortion debate, I would caution that they only engage if they are willing to keep the tone civil. It's a topic that has a history of burning very hot, very fast, and I don't want to have to intervene.

Just my two cents- If there are complications with the pregnancy that seriously threaten the life of the mother I don't think anybody would object if she wanted to abort.
Likewise, if scans show a baby would be born seriously handicapped mentally or physically and the mother wants to abort, I'm sure nobody would object there either.
Or am I missing something?

I have a different take on it. What's important here is who's responsible for paying for what. I have no problem with say an abortion in the first say 90 days of pregnancy. After that, I really think the child should be taken to term. You had your shot at not having the child, and didn't take it.

Aside from that, my big issue is responsibility. If, like the pro-abortion people say, It's a woman's right to choose, and her decision alone, then we should abolish child support for non-married parents. Why?

Because pregnancy requires two to tango so-to-speak. If the man involved is simply a sperm donor, and it truly is a woman's right to choose, then only one party is involved in the pregnancy after it starts.
If the woman decides to carry the child to term, then it's her responsibility, and hers alone. Why should that arrangement suddenly shift 180 degrees and make the man responsible for the child when it was solely the woman's decision to have it?
She can have an abortion or not, but either way because it's her right to choose, and hers alone, she's stuck with the resulting decision. No child support.

Are you sure it was HoJo and not Stuckey's? Stuckey's was truly awful.
