A timely reminder.
But surely the best rendering of Tchaikovsky's Ouverture solennelle 1812 (original title)
was the rendering by St.Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra under Vladimir Ashkenazy ,featuring The St.Petersburg Chamber Choir, the bells and cannon of the Peter and Paul Fortress, supported by the guns of an artillery battery of the Leningrad Military District, and their Brass Band.
