Largest Artillery silencer?

Hi

Not sure if this has been posted before, but though I understand the reason for its existence, why does it need to be camouflaged and surely its shape could be less phallic

I seem to recall that this was used on a test range (not for combat) to avoid disturbing the "locals"....
