My father was a Prisoner of War in World War II, so I can understand and appreciate the interest others take in POW camps as well as those who were incarcerated there.

But what would be next? How about we have an overlay for the map of all those who were awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor? Surely they should deserve that.

And what about all those who died while serving their country in Vietnam. Surely they should deserve that.

And so on.

This map was created to display the locations of the members of this forum who served during the Vietnam War. I respectfully suggest if you wish other locations displayed on a map of Vietnam, you should start a new thread for that purpose.

Gra,

Did you intend for those locations to be overlayed on the map along with all the ACG vets? I was thinking that you were most interested in the actual map, and would appreciate the aforementioned locations overlayed on a separate map.

Either way, this isn't an issue. When I complete the map, I will post it accordingly.

Thank you. I didn't think it would be an issue. Really it was a simple request but please take it as a compliment to the outstanding quality of your map.

The only reason I brought this up was because I have recently read "Spite House" and "Abandoned in Place". and thought about the POW(s) in those books. I did not think about them being on this forum or not. I did think about them serving too; both in their assigned units and in the prisons.

If you want to do this overlay but prefer it in another thread, I will be happy to subscribe to the other thread but I still would like the same map posted there as you're developing here. I've been reading it a bit and asking my wife often if she is familiar with any of those places, some of which I've already been to.

Out of our 12 years of marriage, I've to Vietnam every year since. I think about our POW(s) every time I'm there (amongst other times) and the whole time I am there.

Regardless ... thanks again.

Your suggestion is noted. I'm going to leave this up to Biscuit's discretion. Thanks for your input.

Just curious to know ... was anyone on here ever at Binh Doung province (pronounced Bin Zung) / (town of Song Be - outside of Saigon) at any time?

We were out there today is why I ask. I was told there was a large US facility there during the war.
