I fail to see how any agency can "classify" a map. Either the Earth's surface is there, or it isn't, and anybody is free to view it.

Did anybody tell the inhabitants of those areas that their country was "classified"?

And since when are WWII maps still classified in the first place?

Many of the maps are too small to show any useful details, so why bother "releasing" them?

Mere useless motion does not constitute progress.
