During the Indochina War a small number of Morroccans - in service with the French Far East Expedtionary Force - defected after their king was overthrown by the French.
After DBP the new Communist government settled those Morroccans and they married local women. In the 1970s King Hassan pardoned them and allowed them to return to Morrocco.
In three families the Morroccan father already passed, so they were not allowed to immigrate to Morrocco.
