If you are downloading the game,make sure to check the forum.There are plenty of far better graphics,which are very nice and are installed in 20 seconds,as well few more countries,for example I added Yugoslavia,Italy,Sweden and I am finishing Norway. (although they will be soon in official database).

Britain is new nation,and it will be released next week I think,with latest version with plenty of new features.3D map overview is already available since 0.802b IIRC.

Regarding years,there is work underway for expansion to 1980-1987 for existing countries,and I personally work on Arab-Israeli wars 1965-1987.Game is evolving in extremely rapid manner,so I will post regular updates here,if permitted

Why specifically these years?

Just saying, some of these are very un-sexy and you don't see them very much in wargames.

I don't know the game, but '65 saw only some of the "conflict over water" and that was mainly AF and few and far between armor skirmishes, '87 was the first year of the Intifada and the years after the first withdrawal in Lebanon.

You usually see 67-82, never seen such years before.

Game is working like SPMBT,you chose a year,and you get a possibility to generate a battle using troops available in that year.At certain point there were be particular scenarios regarding 1967,Yom Kippur or 1982 Lebanon wars.The rest is only OOB.

1939-1945 and 1965 and 1987 are only periods for organisational reasons selected to be limits.For now.

How is it you add in another force?

By adding sprites and editing external xml. databases.Not so hard in fact, although it takes some time.

A major release! 7 new nationalities and tons of new features! The current 11 armies include the US Army, USSR, Finland, FRG, the British Army, Yugoslavia, Italy, Sweden, Norway, France and the Netherlands. That makes 321 units and 38 aircraft in total!
Among various improvements there are some new rarely seen features in war-games: civilian neutral units that force you to identify everything before engaging, and the "dummy" objectives that make the enemy plans more obscure and far more challenging.
