Aluminium, like Phosphorus, in whatever their form will burn in air, and once ignited, because of the thermodynamically favoured reaction with oxygen will keep burning in a self-sustaining reaction. Thermite used this. Other materials are used for explosives, somthing as simple as ammonium nitrate used in fertilizer, for example. There are chemicals far more potent than these, but those mentioned by others here are potent enough for the purposes for which they were designed.
