Yes it was. I DVR'ed it and started watching fully expecting not to finish it. The way it started was a little slow but it turned out to be very watchable. Paul Scofield nails the part of Thomas More and John Hurt as the weaselly Richard Rich is also very good. Robert Shaw as Henry the VIII is a tad over the top but it doesn't hurt the movie as he's not in but a few scenes. And the scene where his family comes to visit More in the Tower is heartbreaking.
A well-acted movie.

the movie was just the pilot episode.
I think its quite a good series showing wartime britain as well as some clever plots.
I hope your enjoying it
Had a chance to watch 3 episodes. Fully enjoyed, thank you queensman. I guess the main idea of the series is justice interfering with national defence.
VERY well-done. All the IJN ships were portrayed correctly. Only problems were that the Midway planes were shown on deck when the fatal attack occurred, the guy playing Cdr Fuchida looked to be in his mid-fifties, and the guy playing RADM Yamaguchi was way too young and looked to be a dead ringer for Soryu's Captain Yanagimoto Ryusaku. Also, it appeared that they eliminated Hiryu's Captain Kaku Tomeo; RADM Yamaguchi seemed in command of both CarDiv 2 and Hiryu personally.
Other than these minor things, a well-done film.

Screw Universal...give me Emma Watson, a copy of the "Kama Sutra", and a hotel suite in Vegas and I'll create my own "Harry Potter Experience".

Have you seen the 1968 Japanese movie (Rengo kantai shirei chôkan: Yamamoto Isoroku)?
No, I haven't...I've wanted to see those older Japanese movies for some time, but I'd want to be able to understand what they're saying.
I've never seen it as well. I saw "Kai-ten" (1967) and a movie about Okinawa battle made in 1971. All with Russian translation, of course. It's hard to be a polyglot.
