Add all the pictures/clues together to arrive at one answer.
They all have something to do with this WHO, WHAT or WHEN that we're looking for

I take a shot at it. The crucial piece is the staircase. We are looking down or descending to either mans downfall or to hell which all the clues point to.

From the other posts from this I think the answer is a "What" and it's "Dante's Inferno".

Great initiative Jason
I too think the clues point towards the Descend into Inferno from Dante's Divine Comedy.
- Staircase is descending
- Blazing fire is an inferno
- Dante Alighieri
- Richard Wagner (composer of Faust) was the (future) son in law of Franz Liszt (composer of Dante symphony that was dedicated to Richard Wagner).
- Christian devotion

- Staircase is descending (Dante symphony by Liszt)
- Blazing fire is an inferno (Fire in Hamburg in 1842; Liszt holds concerts for the victims)
- Dante (Liszt writes symphony based on Dante's Inferno)
- Richard Wagner (son-in-law of Liszt)
- St. Francis (Liszt composes "Legend of St. Francis of Assisi")

Isn't the painting depicting St. Anthony?

Admittedly my knowledge of Catholic saints is a bit hazy but that is what I think as well.

St - Antonius.
Patron saint of pets and domestic animals I believe - don't know if it's relevant to the riddle

All the red are right
Now it should be clear who, what or when I'm looking for...
However, what about the first and last picture?
Greets,

Yep, which led to his death...something he wouldn't recover from!
And the last one?
