I don't see a problem. I mean if it is used it means the MOD real messed up because that is really last ditch defense. I doubt it will see any action since the RAF will keep any thing well away from them.

Probably all for show in much the same way that all that hype about the Navy preparing to respond to terrorist threats was. Am not sure how the missile system will effectively deal with the more likely threat - a small group of people or lone attacker carrying small arms, suicide vests or using car bombs, hitting the transport system, etc.

More often than not these big displays are more for public consumption than anything else.

Second worrying about the debris from a Starstreak and not say worrying about a Aeroplane crashing into the ground is a bit retarded to say the least.

Amount of Crap we throw up into the sky every 5th November Compared to one or two HVM's. Couple of years ago I was standing down wind from a housing estate on that night, and its was raining Plastic and cardboard.

Normally people who whinge about the lack of Public transport/Prison space/power stations/Landfill sites/Etc, then complain and do everything in their power to stop said items being built anywhere near them.
