Kampfgruppe Schottland
I have joined and just attended Kampfgruppe Schottland - the only re-enactment group to portray WWII Germand units. Two impressions are currently being portrayed - Panzer Lehr and Fallschirmjager.

My first event was at the weekdend, where we did had a static display at this event:-

Had a great weekend and have the sunburn to prove it....can't wait to get involved in a battle re-enactment!!!
At some point, I will try to post some pics!!

It's good ,the only downside being no facial hair to be worn for shows/events......so my goattee has to go!!! The pics with my baldy chin show only the second time in 15 years that my chin has been devoid of fuzz!!! Looks like it'll be back to normal in 10-14 days of growth.....
The fun factor is amazing.....lots of interest from the public, although most kids familiar with Cal of Duty/Medal of Honour games ask yo handle the guns by name.....LOL!!!

Great Pics there John. I've done bits of WWII re-enactment both Brit and German, and found it to be excellent fun. Just need to find the time to fit yet another period in!

This season is looking to be my first full season or re-enactment, with training days and show dates starting to fill the diary from May to September!!!
Our Group will be attending shows such as Blyth Battery in Northumberland, East Fortune in East Lothian, Fort George near Inverness, Victory Show at Cosby, Culzean Castle in Ayrshire, Lanark Medieval Festival and Dumfries....with possibly a few more shows.....
Event calendar can be found here:-
http://www.kgscotland.org/
It also looks like at most of them, there will be firing exercises or battles as well as our static display......so, come along to a show near you......!!!!

I hear through the grapevine that the Lanark history festival has been cancelled due to "funding issues". Is that right?
Be a bugger if it was, my daughter loved it last year.

Sadly this is true!!! Shame really as it was a good show and seemed to have been going a number of years, getting bigger each year!!
Was quite looking forward to it myself!!
