Organizations are still hiring him for conferences, so it's hard to say what will happen. At the end of the day, he didn't even have to inflate his resume. He just had to tell the truth. Instead, when called to the floor, he makes a half-attempt to attack back instead of owning up.

Yep...it has exploded on SOCNET and elsewhere. Here are some links...the first two are SOCNET threads...there are several there, but these two cover all of it. The third link is to a site defending Giduck. Unfortunately, the guys posting there have released the identity of a currently serving Special Forces Soldier, and made his PII available to the public. Kinda reckless for people knowledgeable in counter-terrorism. The fourth and fifth links are to some pretty hilarious sites about Giduck. Enjoy:

The discussion has exploded with good reason.

To be clear, questions about Dr. Giduck's background and experience started in 2005 on the "penheaded" blog. SOCNET is just one of many groups asking similar questions about a public figure that is being paid with our hard earned tax dollars.

I don't know if I can post links so I will post suggested google searches instead...

1) John Giduck spent a total of 58 days in the US Army. He seems to omit that fact in his seminars and bios. That said, one author that wrote an article about Dr Giduck clearly states that Dr Giduck has an 82nd Airborne Division tattoo. Why would he have such a tattoo with only 58 days of military service.

Google: Giduck Army service record

or Google: Giduck 82nd Airborne tattoo

2) There is compelling evidence which shows that John Giduck's Russian Spetsnaz experience was actually a series of one week adventure camps in Russia in the early 2000s. These adventure camps provided some sort of vague "certification" that Dr Giduck includes in his seminar bios. Seems like no one in the US Government or local police bothered to check what a "Vityaz certification in anti-terror operations" actually entails or means before allocating tax dollars for Dr Giduck's advice and counsel on counter-terrorism/anti-terrorism. Apparently, it means being able to pay for a one week "summer camp". If Dr Giduck trained Spetsnaz as he claims, one has to wonder what contributions a 58 day Army basic combat training washout could make to hardened Russian Special Forces troops anyway.

Google: giduck russian adventure camp

3) There is surprising new evidence that shows that it is highly unlikely that Dr Giduck could have been in Beslan in the days after the school siege. With his own words, Dr Giduck says that he had a visa issue that he would have needed to resolve within 24 hours of the start of the siege in order to make it to Beslan by Sept 4 as claimed. It would appear that he sent his Russian friends forward as he dealt with those visa issues. A US Congressional delegation published in the Congressional Record two weeks after the Beslan incident that they were the only Americans authorized to the school. This may not seem like much but it is core to Dr Giduck's credibility as an author...and remains an open question as of this post.

Google: giduck beslan timeline

4) Dr Giduck may have funneled Colorado tax dollars from his own community correction non-profit to rebels in the Sudan. Halfway houses in CO are funded by state grants to help offenders ..these grants likely weren't intended to be funding peace conferences in the Sudan (especially with comprehensive US sanctions in place)

Google: giduck taxpayer sudan

5) There are seemingly odd relationships between Dr Giduck and local public officials in places like Chester, PA. Dr. Giduck has previously had the current Police Commissioner of Chester on his company's payroll and also has provided material donations to the police force such as a $20k zodiac dive boat. Dr Giduck just became a consultant for the Chester police department in 2012 to consult on some vague "International Intelligence Unit" for the police department. Some people don't understand why a city of only 33,000 people that may not be able to pay to keep its schools open in April would have a requirement for an "international intelligence unit".

Google: giduck chester pennsylvania

So, there are the issues in a nutshell. There are other issues that are specific to smaller communities such as his relationships with senior Russian intelligence officials with regards to his training at sensitive US Government sites.

That said, hopefully, it is more clear why there are so many questions about Dr Giduck in terms of his qualifications and activities.

Well, Mr Giduck just landed on the POWnetwork wall of shame. Apparently, one should take care before purchasing "Terror at Beslan" or "The Green Beret in You". Giducks credentials have been busted regarding his military service.

Man, I've been watching this whole thing silently, and all I have to say is wow. I always wonder how these guys have the audacity to believe that they'll never be uncovered. I had no opinion of the man before, but this has snowballed into one gigantic ****storm for Giduck incredibly fast.

Just saw this again after going through my old threads. Ouch! I would think better vetting would have been in order before this individual was hired.

The funny thing is...reading thru the threads at SOCNET, it looks like he bought his way into every accomplishment he claims. He doesnt work "for" Archangel...he IS Archangel. Its his company. His martial arts hall of fame membership...you got it...he was a co-founder of the federation. The upside of this whole debacle is that now it will be very simple for any Law Enforcement Agency to find the info before they go commit their training dollars to this guy. All you have to do is google John Giduck.

Excellent points.

What's funny is that John Giduck isn't just a US military poser anymore, he's also been caught lying about his Russian Special Forces Brotherhood of the Red Beret Association too.

The wheels are coming off the gravy train. When this started, the SOF community found big holes in Giducks background, false claims of service in SF, and reacted to his unconscionable release of PII on the web of an active duty SF Soldier while we are engaged in a war on terror. He claims to be a terrorologist; maybe he's just not a good one.

Anyhoo...now, the veracity of information in the book itself is highly suspect. There is a Russian site dedicated to the Beslan siege...and they not only corroborate much of the info posted on SOCNET concerning forged Russian government certificates, but they dig into the story line and statistics in the book. The result is not good for Mr Giduck. If interested, here is a link to get up to speed with recent goings-on:

As best as I can tell, he's not backing down. He has a lot of cronies that are trying to back him up. That said, one has to wonder if he actually understands the bee-hive he has kicked over.

By the way, on his fake site, you can compare the language of the different posters and see that they're coming from the same place. He's also trying to discredit a high-decorated special forces soldier (Tracy Warrington). I would have to think this is a bad idea, lol

I am with you Bro. Rick James once said, "Cocaine is a hell of a drug." I suppose money is too. Why a couple of former SF guys support him over 30 pieces of silver is beyond me. Folks from both the Special Operations Association and the Special Forces Association have showed their a$$ on this. Plenty to read up on that on the SOCNET website.

Your link also has a new post about John Giduck's close ties to a group that the Washington Times reported may have been involved in the bombing of a US Embassy.

That little tidbit will be hard for supporters to white wash away....

Press Release
12 July 2012

Subject: Fake Green Beret Sues Military Heroes to Silence Their Criticism.

On June 11th 2012 a Colorado man, John Giduck, filed a SLAPP lawsuit in an effort to censor, intimidate and silence veterans by burdening them with the cost of a legal defense until they abandon their criticism of him. (SLAPP: "Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation."). *Ironically, Mr. Giduck is suing some of the same veterans who exposed congressional candidate Ken Aden (Arkansas, 3d District) for his false claims as a Special Forces Soldier (http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/congre...5#.T_9KOXCXJUU).

The veterans, several of whom are decorated special operations personnel, questioned Mr. Giduck's claims to be a "Green Beret" and a "former Army Ranger." Mr. Giduck has made such false claims repeatedly in promotional materials for law enforcement and military seminars. *This link has a timeline of Mr. Giduck's various activities and examples of his false biographical information uncovered on the web:

http://www.socnet.com/showthread.php?t=108706.

In these seminars, Mr Giduck advocates tactics, techniques and procedures that the veterans find to be fundamentally unsound and dangerous. * Among them are:

--Installing knock-out gas delivery systems in public schools;
--Deploying armed teams of former Special Operations personnel in public schools as opposed to local law enforcement;
--Employing fire hoses to neutralize heavily-armed terrorists holding student hostages.

Mr. Giduck previously threatened veterans that he perceived as threats to his credibility, and he resorted to bullying legal tactics. * As a response to Mr. Giduck's bullying, veterans investigated his background and learned the following:

1. Mr. Giduck has been a practicing attorney in Colorado. One of his clients was Mrs. Donna Yaklich, a woman accused--and later convicted--of murdering her husband, a Pueblo PD Police Officer. Mr. Giduck had an affair with her after her husbandís death, and enjoyed a Caribbean holiday with her that was subsidized by her husband's death benefits. Mr. Giduck's legal fees were also paid from Dennis Yaklich's death benefits. After the Pueblo PD issued a warrant for her arrest, Mrs. Yaklich returned, turned herself in, and retained better counsel after Mr. Giduck was forced to recuse himself from the case.

2. Despite multiple instances where Mr. Giduck claims a background in "Special Forces" or as an "Army Ranger," Mr. Giduck never served in the military. He actually enlisted in the Army and failed out of basic training after 58 days; yet, over the course of years, allowed claims of him being a Special Forces Soldier to be publicly posted on advertising material and his very own website. * Further, Mr. Giduck's credentials as a "terrorism expert" are thin. Mr. Giduck has no practical experience or formal training in counter-terrorism aside from a recent PhD. earned from a reputable university. Mr. Giduck's books have been derided by academic reviewers and genuine specialists in counter-terrorism.

3. Mr. Giduck publicly claims that he trained with the Russian Special Forces, known as Spetsnaz, and that he has connections to the FSB. The Russian FSB is the successor to the KGB from the Soviet era. *Spetsnaz is a branch of the Russian GRU, the equivalent of our Defense Intelligence Agency. *This claim alarmed those veterans who are still in government service. Personnel with active security clearances are required to report contact with such persons to their security and counter-intelligence sections. This obligation is mandatory, not optional.

Does anyone know the legal status of what this guy has done is? Essentially he has misrepresented himself and claimed to be qualified to provide services (lectures, training, promotions and so on) based on those false claims.

From that standpoint alone could people not sue him for their money back as well as damages? I would have thought since he is advocating tactics that others claim are dangerous he could be liable for some pretty hefty damages. From a purely legal standpoint what is his situation?

Well, this has finally been resolved to a large extent. A Colorado judge threw out the lawsuit since apparently calling someone a Douche-Nozzle, A$$-Hat, or Fudge-Packer is constitutionally protected free speech. In addition, he could not prove any damages. That was probably not the plan anyway. The type of lawsuit used (SLAPP) can be used as a technique to shut people up by bringing financial hardship to them by making them retain legal counsel. 30+ defendants had to get legal counsel on their own dime. Fortunately the following happened; As a result of this frivolous lawsuit, The Judge ordered Giduck to pay all legal fees. OWWW!!! That hurt! Anyway, the end validates the saying that truth is the best defense.

You can read more about the results here:
