592nd Sig Co.
I served in this unit, the 592nd Sig Co while stationed in Berlin. We wore the Berlin Brigade patch, but the sign infront of our barracks read 592nd Sig Co. I can't find anything about this company anywhere. Probably a ficticous unit made up to confuse the Commies.
My first unit was the 304th Sig Bn. Now they have a long history, starting in WW II, them reactivated in Korea with the 45th Inf. I served in Korea from April 1968 to may of 1969. Company A, have found only a few guys I served with, must not have had any fun. Nobody wants to talkl about those years. I have the unit "history" for 1968 but it seemed we changed Cos', 1st Sgts once or twice. I remember 1st Lt William F Chapman III and 1st Sgt William Manning They were good leaders, my platoon leader was 2nd Lt Baird, platoon sgt was S/Sgt Statum
