But if it was welded it would be unusable as a weapon, and this vehicle was made to be used in real conditions - so I would guess it was traversable.

Cougar, you have to change the name of the file when you post the pic, otherwise we know where to look!
Anyway, I couldn't find another site that had any info on that conversion, at least in the 15 minutes or so that I looked.

I know it's not mine, and the chassis is obvious...
EDIT: Wait, didn't France get some Panthers after the war? Think this is one of them?

The sign on the front of the crane is in French, and the Panzernet site where the photo is from describes it as being in France.
A lot of Sherman chassis also ended up as construction, logging and farm equipment after the war.

No, it is french, made before war by artillery tractor producer, but it remained as a prototype.

It was prototype, and it lost against AMD PANHARD 178.
Latil was more famous for artillery tractors.
