To me, personally selective breeding is as good a system as any.

Our head of state isnt chosen as the result of a badly attended election. Birth cant really be questioned in the same way that say Obama's election has been. Your either the Monarchs first born or your not.

As a figure head the Royal family has provided good and sensible example.

Its not like she can order any one to have their head cut off any more.
Indeed, Im sure some people seem to think that she is in charge of all of us.
I mean this country hasnt had a monarchical government in its proper from since the 1640's under Charles I and that was an attempt to turn back the clock even then.He literally lost his head for his attempt to impose it too. By the 18th century , it was pretty much the system as it is now.

Personally, I consider the most important role of a royal family to keep the yellow press occupied, every page they run about who argued with who in the royals is a page they don't devote to blathering mis- or uninformed about something important.

You get the Queen and we get the Pope

Best we swap them around and save some money, well the UK will, given the huge cost of the Popes visit compared to the Queens

Regards

I've asked you before and never got an answer: why do you care?

I mean, I reckon the way the US presidential system works is a pretty ordinary system and could be done much better but, at the end of the day, I don't have to live under it so I don't care enough to bother others about it.

So why is it you care?
I don't care; I just enjoy discussing British politics, I don't feel any hatred towards royals, you have to give a about people in order to hate them.

I don’t think there’s anyone here posting from the Vatican so who is the “you” that gets the Pope?

BTW, you do realise that both the Pope and the Monarch in the UK are head of state and head of the state religion?
It’s nice to know that you still have something in common

I think the Archbishop of Canterbury has his Ninja ministers on stanby for when Liz goes. I think he has a penchant for the title Head of the Church of England!

He wont get it. Charlie seems to take the idea of being Defender of Faiths seriously.

Mind you I still think its funny that the head of the church of England boasts Woden and Mohamed in her family tree.
