Check the Middle East forum. It looks like all out war as Israel mobilizes for an invasion to rid themselves of that threat once and for all.

Well, I thought it might also belong here since we really don't know how the Obama administration is going to react if Israel goes into the Gazza Strip

Half Pint John 16 Nov 12 18:22

They won't react openly that you or I know of. That is the way it should be. As Ron said, the news of the new conflict is in many threads for sometime. Just don't look for everything to show up in PC first.

No, unfortunately, the UN will butt in and keep that from happening the way they always do, meaning that more innocents on both sides will continue getting killed in the days, months and years to come.

Ah come on John, get serious. Nobody in that area gives a damn what the UN has to say.

Yet, the Israelis always cave-in to the UN cease-fire decrees before they can finish conclusively pounding Hamas into submission.

Bwaha 16 Nov 12 19:08

I'd be willing to join up. Who else of us old farts would be willing to do some maintenance for them? :toast:

Unlike Hamas, Israel has to continue doing business with the outside world. They can only let these things go on for so long before they become a net loss.

He will publicly support Israel's right to defend itself and ask Arab leaders to work with Hamas. Anything more will make the situation worse.

Opinions?

You need to get out of the Politics Central forum more.

The myriad issues and new developments in that region are currently being discussed extensively in the Middle East forum (http://www.armchairgeneral.com/forum...play.php?f=260) with up to date information on those events being posted daily.

Over 70,000 Israeli Reservists now called up and awaiting the "GO Order" into Gaza. I hope they remember to take along some ground penetrating radar to find all the tunnels and caverns several stories below the street level, where Hamas is keeping all of their rockets and weaponry. It might be time to deploy some "bunker buster" ordinance and collapse all these tunnels onto those rats living below ground.

Meanwhile, the IDF released statistics upon the conclusion of day three of Operation Pillar of Defense. According to the statement, the Israel Air Force hit 238 targets in the Gaza Strip on Friday. A total of 105 rockets struck Israel during the course of the day, the IDF said, while the Iron Dome missile defense system shot down an additional 99 rockets.
