Special Operations Forces

Was going to title it American Special Operations Forces, but since they work with many NATO and UN special forces and the fact that there are many other professional special operations forces around the world, there's no point in making it all American. All of them should be honored for their sacrifice to be the best.

I would like to share photos from: http://www.americanspecialops.com/photos

First there was the insert...

You do know that the SAS/SBS has been doing those things, one way or another, rather successfully since 1941. Their fine record up to today speaks for itself.

During WW2 it was called 'Combined Operations'. The sleeve badge was an Anchor crossed by a tommy gun and surmounted by an Eagles wings. lcm1

Egoz Reconnaissance Unit

Israeli elite guerrilla and anti-guerrilla unit. Operating in southern Lebanon and the West Bank, they can sneak around for hours without making a sound. With some luck, I hope to make it into this unit. Pretty hard to find pictures of, but I found a few.

I like thes photos there very "neat".I like the ones with the Navy SEALS fast-ropping the best as well as the ones with the IDF Commandos as well.

Indeed it does. But I fear that sometimes the legacy of SOE and OSS is forgotten. They are most often remembered for training, advising and leading the resistance but they did sabotage and other direct action as well.

Yes but they are defunct and have been for 60 odd years.
