VA Senior Care

Well this is a subject I find hard to breach, but my dad has basically lost it and is killing both me and my mom with stress. I was looking at this facility and was wondering if anyone had experience with it.

It's the closest one to my place and I still want to visit with him.

First thing to do is make an unannounced visit to the facility, when they don't know you're coming.

Bwaha 06 Nov 15 14:04

Yeah that's what I was planning, but I was wondering if someone else had first hand knowledge of that facility...

I don't. I'm 66 and beginning to wonder where I might go next year or later on though. I've been by Yountville but never stopped as I was still working. I'll ask around the left coast to see if any of my brothers know anything.
:salute:

That'd totally appreciated. Hell, if its a good place I might end up there as well...

I got a few good years left, I'm still in my fifties and am in reasonably good shape still...

I'm sorry, Bwaha. I thought you had family to take care of you.

Hell, I'm a lot older than you and I still take care of myself.

Oh I was doing research for my dads care. My kid is in Florida with her own family and I wouldn't impose on them that way. /shrug.

But if its a good old folks home I'd avail myself of its benefits when it becomes necessary...

I'd rather die at home.
