Armchair Attacks! - Tournament #3 "100 Greatest Generals"
Welcome to the Armchair Attacks! 100 Greatest Generals. We watch movies and read about war and warfare, we play games dealing with strategy and tactics, and we chat on the forums about all of the above. It's now time to take the next step, put on the boxing gloves, and participate in an entirely different sort of battle...
100 Greatest Generals
This is a single elimination tournament, with a starting field of 32 generals and leaders of men throughout history. It is up to you to cast your vote to help your man proceed to the next round. The rules are simple - votes = victory. Vote for the leader whom you believe was the better of two at their brand of warfare. Which was the best general? Was this ancient general a better tactician than his contemporary opponent? Who would you rather have leading YOUR military? Back up your votes in the discussion for each match and bend others to your will. Sometimes there is no clear answer. YOU can make the difference by persuading others to vote for your man.
At the end of each round, votes will be tallied, and the man with the most votes proceeds.
Tournament start date is Feb, 25, 2008. Once the tournament voting begins, you will be unable to submit a bracket.
You also can participate more directly in the tournament by attempting to pick the winners of each matchup. If you think you can guess which way each matchup is going to go, submit your bracket to us to be entered into the running for this tournament within a tournament. The winner will be awarded a unique ribbon to symbolize the achievement! Points for correct picks are progressive;
*1 pt for each correct pick in Round 1
*2 pts for each correct pick in Round 2
*3 pts for each correct pick in Round 3
*4 pts for each correct pick in Round 4
*5 pts for each correct pick in Round 5
*6 pts for the correct Champion
