As a new subscriber to "Armchair General" I just received my very first July issue and feel the need point out an error you made in that edition.

In the "Special Feature" article "HOW TO GET THE NEXT WAR RIGHT" of that issue, you show a picture on page 83 of a "Bunker Buster" strike and indicated that the picture was taken at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. Sorry to have to inform you but there is no way that picture could have been taken in Florida. How do I know? Being from Florida, I can tell you for a fact that nowhere in Florida do they have the type of mountain ranges shown in the background of that picture. That picture would have had to come from a state other than Florida. That picture looks like it may have been taken in a western state like Nevada or California. Please check the source of that picture again. What do you say?

As you noted, the photo looks more like White Sands Missile Range (the ‘bunker buster’ test site) than the pine barrens of Eglin AFB in north Florida. I’ll pass along your email to our Images Editor, who is often at the mercy of photo identifications provided by the image’s source (in this case, the Department of Defense).
