EXHIBITION HALLS
The Exhibition Halls were housed in the largest temporary structure in the world. Having taken two months to construct, the halls were only used for seven days before being dismantled again. The complex was truly enormous. You can see a part of the structure in the background here.

There were a total of five Exhibition Halls – four of them interlinked. In addition to the main halls there were conference facilities and meeting rooms for many of the companies who had stands there, and private balconies for watching the air displays. Many of the larger companies also had their own buildings outside the main complex.
Inside the Exhibition Halls were literally hundreds of stands by various companies and organisations. It probably would have taken the best part of a week to go and visit them all, but here’s a flavour.

In addition to displays showing off their wares, many companies opted to have interactive elements to their stands.

Then, of course, there were the weapons displays. There is something very surreal about wandering around a trade fair where people are selling modern munitions and missile systems, and where large billboard adverts proclaim that this jet fighter “gets the job done” better than any other.
