EPISODE 35 – "Return Of The King’"
The sleek airliner, painted black with a black stripe, slips gracefully below the sparse cloud cover and banks to starboard as it enters a pre-determined flight plan.
On board, General Menace, resplendent in his medal-rich uniform, draws from a huge cigar and gazes, awestruck out of the window.
Below him, Sinister Island sits serenely in the sea, as unblemished and intact as the last time he saw it, some eighteen months before. The Lake of Mutations bathes in sunlight, the mysterious Doom Mountains are as dark as ever and from this height, the General can see all the cities and military facilities that he knew so well, dotted around the island as well as Sinister Navy ships docked in the harbour.
Confused, he turns back to his cigar with a wrinkled brow.
One hour later, escorted by an honour guard, General Menace finds himself once more inside the central war room of the Sinister Imperial Command Complex, where he takes a seat. Aside from the massive viewscreens and racks of computer equipment, the chamber is otherwise empty.
General Menace: Hello? Is there anyone here?
(There is no response)
Come on, I’ve had enough of these silly games, I’ve supposedly been asked to come here, to an island I knew to be destroyed, by a man who I know to be dead and I’ve had enough of waiting.
(There is a small noise from behind the General and he stands up to see a shape in the shadows)
Who’s there?
(The shape resolves itself into the figure of a man, a very tall man wearing a smart black tunic and an eyepatch on his left eye)
No…it can’t be!
Doctor Sinister: Welcome home General.
(General Menace stands, agog, as Doctor Sinister approaches. A mixture of emotions fill his mind, bewilderment, relief, anxiety, rage…)
