Armchair’s Call To Arms! Join the Team!

Armchair General Staff | January 13, 2006  | 2 comments  | Print  | E-mail

We are looking for a few good people to join our squad and be a part of the Armchair General website team. We have a lot of exciting things planned, and we need some special talent to help keep those plans in focus. We are looking for the following types of assistance, but if you think you have a skill that we MUST have for our website, or if you are a keen volunteer enthusiast willing to help us bring military history to life, please drop us a line!

Game Reviewers – We are looking for freelance game reviewers to help us build our reviews database. Previous published work is preferred, but not absolutely required. Demonstration of your writing skills will definitely be required. We are primarily looking for reviewers of mainstream games and console products (Some recent examples would be Call of Duty 2, Civilization 4, Quake IV, etc.).

Strategy Guide Writers – We are looking for gamers who also enjoy writing guides to help those who follow their lead. Armchair General magazine is devoted to helping readers understand the strategy and tactics of history, and the website should be focused on the strategy and tactics of gaming. If you think you have what it takes, let us know!

Military History Writers – We are looking for general writers who love history, and especially military history. These can be articles from almost any time period, although we look for stories that can put the reader into the event in an interesting or unique way. We do NOT want boring black and white rehashing of past events. It must be exciting! And a picture can say a thousand words as you will see from our extensive image gallery.  If you can provide pictures and text from battlefield or museum tours, shows or events, or about any interesting aspect of military history that comes to mind, let us know.

Movie/DVD Reviewers - We’ll pay you to go to the movies! Of course it should be a movie about military history…but we may throw a few curve balls out there. Drop us a line if you have an interest in being an advanced scout of the latest cinema.

Book Reviewers – Like history? Like to read about history?  Well we have a need for some qualified people to read history books and then write short reviews on them.

Armchair On The Road – Going to have a table or booth at a game convention, militaria show, gun show, reenacting event, or anything else related to military history? Contact us for how we can work together to give away copies of our magazine, and get you something for your effort! Any confirmed subscriptions arising from such events could mean money in your pocket!

Armchair Hosting – Have a military history or gaming website that needs to find a good home? Have a game, patch, or file that needs some bandwidth for downloading? Armchair General now has additional server space to host your account as part of our larger web community. Often, the only requirement is displaying some of our ads…but you can also get PAID if you promote our subscriptions at the same time. This can be win-win for everyone.

Ecommerce Specialists – Have some knowledge?  Let us know!

If you have an interest in any of these, please email 2007reviewer [-at/] armchairgeneral.com for games, and contact03 [-at/] armchairgeneral.com for military history.  Please clearly state your area of interest, a little bit of your background, and any other information you’d like to share with us.  We’ll then look over your credentials and get back to you as quickly as we can.  Thanks for your interest in becoming part of our team!
