Alternative to Hex-Based Wargames in the Magazine?

By Rob Vaughn | Letters |  Published: November 14, 2005 at 1:09 pm

Hello!  I just wanted to pass along a suggestion regarding the games you include in your magazine occasionally.  While I have enjoyed the "hex and chit" games for many years, I would like you to consider other styles of games to make available through your magazine.  Particularly, it would be nice to offer variety, including card games and/or printable miniature-type games.  To illustrate what I mean, I would suggest you visit a couple of websites I have listed below.

www.angelfire.com/games2/warpspawn/
www.juniorgeneral.org

These sites have some interesting game options/components which could conceivably be included in your magazine.  Granted, they are much "simpler" for the most part than the "hex and chit" games, but games like these might also draw additional readers to your magazine.

Regardless, keep up the great work!

Thanks for the information Rob.  I will be sure to pass this along to our editors.  In the meantime, I am posting this here to give our readers some options for strategy gaming in a different vein than what many are used to seeing here.

Best regards,
